These trays are designed to prevent oil, in the event of an accident, from reaching the ground and contaminating the groundwater. There is always a risk of fire due to the relatively low flash point of the oil and the high operating temperature

With this in mind, it has become increasingly common to use fire-retardant gratings, also known as transformer gratings, to reduce the risk of fire in the oil collection tray. In the past, a layer of crushed stones approximately 20 cm thick was used as a cover layer on the transformer

At the same time, the BN-OF grating is designed with a strong focus on operation and maintenance. The slip-resistant surface (classified R11) provides safe working conditions for technicians and service personnel moving across the gratings during inspection and maintenance work. The grating can be custom-made to fit the specific project, with options for cutouts and inspection hatches, ensuring that the solution is not only safe but also functional in daily use.

Another key aspect is durability. BN-OF gratings are produced with a galvanized surface according to DIN EN ISO 1461, ensuring a long service life even in demanding environments such as offshore installations, where salt, moisture, and wind place high demands on the materials.
