Gratings have a certain degree of serration (slip resistance) as standard, but they can be made even more slip-resistant.
Pressure locked gratings with serration are typically used in areas where the floor plays an important role in ensuring that employees have a safe and stable footing during a busy workday. Serrated gratings are always marked with an “X” before the type designation – e.g. XP230-33-3.
Slip resistance on floor coverings is classified according to the DIN 51130 standard.
Serrated steel gratings are always recommended for use on ramps. The advantage is that snow and dirt can fall through the mesh openings, ensuring that the serrated bearing bars remain free and provide excellent grip for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
