Sand-coated GRP gratings have slip resistance at the same level as standard GRP gratings.
It is a common misconception that sand-coated GRP gratings are required if a slip-resistant grating is desired.

Sand-coated GRP gratings are more expensive than standard GRP gratings.
Therefore, they are only used where necessary – for example in swimming pools, on bathing jetties, or other places where people walk barefoot.
